Three time world 1,500m champion won bronze in one mile at the inaugural World Road Running championships in Riga, Latvia.
The race was won by Ethiopia’s Diribe Welteji for gold with Freweyni Hailu settling for silver and triple world record holder Kipyegon setting for bronze.
Welteji turned tables on Kipyegon to win the title in a world record of 4:21.00 with Hailu coming second in 4:23.06 with Kipyegon in the closing stages at 4:24.13
