Kisumu City will host the Confederation of African Cycling (CAC) Road Cycling African Championships from October 21 to 25, marking the third consecutive year that Kenya will stage the continental cycling showpiece.
The lakeside city is set to welcome some of Africa’s top cyclists for five days of intense competition as riders battle for continental honours across various categories.
Kenya hosted the championships in Eldoret, Uasin Gishu County, in 2024 before the event moved to Diani in Kwale County last year.
Kisumu now takes over as the host city, with the organisers promising another thrilling edition of the championships.
In a post on its Facebook page, the Confederation of African Cycling said:
“For the third year in a row, Kenya is welcoming the CAC Road Cycling African Championships and this time, Kisumu is the host city!
“From 21st–25th October, cyclists from across Africa will be in Kisumu, ready to race, push their limits and battle it out for continental glory.
“Kisumu, get ready for five days of speed, sweat and serious cycling action!”
The championships will provide Kenyan riders with another opportunity to compete against the continent’s best cyclists on home soil, as the country continues to strengthen its position as a major host of international cycling events.
