Logos 08 were the winners of Football Kenya Federation (FKF) junior League Kimumu Zone in a month long extravaganza that concluded on Friday at Moi Marula High school grounds.
In the league made up of five junior teams, Logos managed to win five out of eight matches in home and away fixture. Despite tying on 15 points apiece with Kaptuktuk, Logos had to take home the title after registering more goals compared to Kaptuktuk.
In the last match between the two teams on Friday evening, Logos lost to Kaptuktuk 3-2 but that did not match the number of goals Logos beat Kaptuktuk in the first fixture of 7-1.
When they were put head to head, Logos enjoyed the lead in goals. And on last games Eugene Kemboi scored a hatrick with all the 3-2 goals coming from him while Dennis Onyango and Samson Ekital scored for Logos 08. In other matches Wilson Kirui scored a lone goal for Ndovu fc to beat their neighbours Rehema United by a solitary goal on Friday.
Two goals from Collins Kiptoo of Kaptuktuk did not match the high scoring Kimumu fc as Rodgers Maiyo (15), Brian Tottino (18) and Kevin Kosgey netted for Kimumu to finish third overall and after losing the first match Kimumu, Kaptuktuk beat Ndovu 2-0 with Collins Kiptoo again netting twice.
Next the junior teams will be meeting fro the County championships where they will meet with teams from Hururma, Langas and Burnt Forest zones for county title.
