Kenya Morans, the national men’s basketball team started on a high note winning the opening match against Cote d’Ivoire at the FIBA AfroCan championships in Luanda, Angola.
The Cliff Owuor coached side recorded 62-52 victory against Cote d’Ivoire in pool A encounter as they chase to improve on the silver medal they won in 2019 in Bamako Mali after losing the final match to Congo DRC.
The other three matches on card on the first day of action will see host Angola welcome home Mali, reigning champions DR Congo take on Cameroon while Rwanda confront Tunisia.
Ivory Coast play Gabon on Sunday while Kenya will have a break before meeting the Gabonese a day later.
