KCB Women Volleyball team head coach Japheth Munala and Gideon Tarus have been appointed the Malkia Strikers and Wafalme Stars head coaches ahead of East African Community Games that will be staged in Kigali, Rwanda next month.
Munala returns into the national team after eight years replacing Paul Bitok who is now the deputy president of Kenya Volleyball Federation (KVF).
Munala served as Strikers coach between 2015 and 2018 where he won the 2018 World Championship in Japan before Bitok taking over.
Munala will be assisted by Kenya Pipeline’s coach Paul Gitau and and Kenya Prisons’ women’s team coach Josp Barasa.
The former champions General Service Unit (GSU) coach Tarus will be leading Wafalme and will be assisted by Kenya Prisons’ men’s team coach Dennis Mokua and Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) Elisha Aliwa.
