Two time national cross country junior champion Chebolei said he will be chasing the 5,000m.
Chebolei, who won the 2018 national title initially he had not qualified but after running last weekend’s Hengelo 5,000m earned the qualifying standards in 13:12.53.
“In all this preparation, I want to represent my country at the Olympic Games if I cut into the Kenya team and bring glory to lift the flag high,” he said.
He said that running as a junior gave him good experience on track after finishing 8th at the world cross country championships in Aarhus, Denmark.
“That was the last time I competed for Kenya and missed the 2020 Africa Cross country due to the coronavirus pandemic,” said Chebolei.
