The reigning Bucharest half marathon champion Alex Nzioka and former Singapore Half marathon champion Alice Koigi were crowned the champion of the 2024 Mwema Mwea National Reserve Half Marathon held yesterday in Embu County.
He clocked 62:49 ahead of Martin Mumo who was second at 63:14 and Michael Kamau completing the podium at 64:03.
In women, Koigi triumphed after clocking 73:41 with Eunice Muchiri coming second at 76:01 and Mary Munanu completing the podium at 76:05.
In the 10km race, Stanley Njihia emerged the winner in 32:05 followed closely by Harrison Muchira in 32:30.
In the women’s category, Lydia Wanjira triumphed in 39:33 while Lilian Musenya came second in 41:11.
