National 400m champion Zablon Ekwam suffered an injury, hence failing to complete the 400m heat at the ongoing Olympic Games in Paris, France.
The 27-year-old suddenly limping before falling to the tartan, failing to finish the race, to miss the semis final.
The race was won by Great Britain’s Charles Dobson who clocked 44.96, ahead of Belgian Alexander Doom (45.01) and Jevaughn Powell (45.12) in second and third respectively.
The reigning Commonwealth Games 100m champion Ferdinand Omanyala Olympic games medal went up in smoke after losing in the semifinal.
Omanyala was second last in the 100m last heat timing 10.08 in a race won by Jamaica’s Kishane Thompson and Fred Kerley of USA finished 1st and 2nd in 9.80 and 9.84 respectively.
