Africa 100m record holder Ferdinand Omanyala and world under 18 1,500m bronze medalist Ednah Jebitok will lead Kenya team at the World Indoor Championship in Belgrade, Serbia.
Today, Athletics Kenya named a formidable team for the championships that will be held between March 18th to 20th.
After setting national 60m in various World Indoor Tour series starting with the Meeting Hauts-de-France Pas-de-Calais in Lievin, France where he clocked 6.57 in fourth, Omanyala will lead the sprinters.
Jebitok, who has had a good time in cross country meetings across the world this season will be joined by Daniel Simiu and Jacob Krop (3000m), Abel Kipsang (1,500m) among others.
Others include world indoor 800m champion Collins Kipruto who will be defending his title, World Under-20 800m bronze medalist Noah Kibet, Naomi Korir who won silver in the mixed 2x2x400m relay at last year’s World Relay Championships in Silesia, Poland.
The team will be led by Barnaba Kitilit and coached by 2008 Olympic 800m silver medalist Janeth Busienei.
