Athletes planning to run at the inaugural Eldoret City Marathon to be held on Sunday 22nd April 2018 are supposed register online.
Race organisers said on Monday that online registration reduces fraud and setting international standards.
Led by former Boston marathon champion Moses Tanui, Online registration has started and ends on 18th April 2018.
Tanui emphasised said that each athlete will be required to part with kshs 1,200.
“We are doing this to avoid late rush registration and issuance of running bibs. We don’t want to make it hard on the last days. We want to make this race an international one where there is nothing of last minute grumbling for space,” said Tanui.
He added that they are strictly on online registration and deadline since they don’t want to give organisers good time to prepare and present quality race, which is part of international standards.
