Kenyan golfers failed to match home golfer Ronald Otile who clinched the Uganda Open Amateur golf championships on par 71 Entebbe golf club.

Limuru club’s John Karichu and Vet Lab’s Edwin Mudanyi, who were the favouites fell to Otile , the Tororo based golfer who trains in South Africa.
Leading 12 other Kenyan golfers, Mudanyi won round one, tried to make a comeback after firing three under par 68, but it was an improvement coming rather late as his two over par 286 was a shot off the leader Otile who won the title in 2015 and 2016.
Playing on home club, Ugandan player Herman Mutebi finished in fourth place on six over par 290 after a 75 in the final round.
Two other Ugandans Joseph Cwinyaai and Daniel Baguma tied for fifth place on seven over par while tying for the seventh place on 12 over par total was Samuel Njoroge and Uganda’s Joel Basalaine. Tanzania’s Victor Joseph was ninth overall on 13 over after a level par 71.
