Reigning Kenya Amateur Golf Championships (KAGC) champion Samuel Njoroge started 2019 on high, winning Mount Kenya Championships on par 72 Nyeri golf club.
Njoroge, who won the national title in 2018 fired four under par to claim the title, the opener of KAGC series after Sigona Bowl at Sigona Club, the ones that opens the long series failed to kick off for allegedly lack of sponsors.
After finishing second in the first round on Saturday with four under par 68 behind Simon Njogu who enjoyed an overnight sot lead with five under 67, failed to impress in the last round.
The Kenya Railways golfer sunk level par 72 in the second and last round to claim the title.
In the first round, Njoroge, the 2018 winner of Kenya Amateur Strokeplay champion recorded a bogey, 12 pars and five birdies for his 68 before adding six bogeys, three pars and nine birdies for 72.
