Kenyans Geoffrey Koech and Viola Chepngeno will lead compatriots at this year’s Cardiff Half marathon set for Sunday in England.
As the fastest runner on the course with 59:32 Koech will be up against Geoffrey Yegon (59:44), Gizealaw Abeje Ayana (59:41), Hailemaryam Kiros (60:01), Chimdessa Gudeta (60:15).
There will also have debutants at the 2022 championships where Matthew Ckekwurui of Uganda, Kenyan Kelvin Kibiwott and Ethiopia’s Workineh Tadesse.
Japanese Ken Nakayama, Dewi Griffiths (61:31), Ben Preisner (63:08), Zakariya Mahamed (64:04), Kieran Clements (64:31) and Norman Shreeve (64:34).
Chepngeno with fastest time of 66:48, take on compatriot Beatrice Cheserek (67:38), Ethiopian Zewditu Aderaw (68:03), Cynthia Nolari (68:04), Birhan Mhretu (69:25), Susy Chemaimak (72:10), Natasha Cockram (70:47).
