Kenya’s only deaf golfer Isaac Makokha will represent Kenya at the third edition of Victoria Cup golf tournament that will be played on 26th to 28th on Vet Lab golf course.
Makokha, who represented Kenya during the Deaflympic Games in Samsun City of Turkey in July 2017 will join forces with regular top amateur golfers who made a cut in this year’s Victoria Cup.

Playing on home turf, Makokha will be joined by club mate, the Kenya Amateur Golf Championships (KAGC) champion Edwin Mudanyi, current KAGC leader John Karichu from Limuru, Kenya Amateur Matchplay champion Daniel Nduva (Nyali) among others.

On Wednesday, Kenya Golf Union (KGU) named Makokha for the first time in a a ten man formidable team that will be in contention to win the title for the third time in a row since its inception in 2016 with the trophy that was donated by two time Boston marathon champion Moses Tanui.
Kenyan golfers have won all the two titles, the first one in 2016 played at Muthaiga Golf club and in 2017, won the title on Entebbe golf club in Uganda and the 2017 will be played at Vet Lab golf club.
Coming from a golfing family like Charles Odhiambo, Reuben Kubwa and Jeff Kubwa, Makokha will combine forces with Mudanyi, Nduva, Karichu among Kenyan top amateurs like Mike Kisia (Vet Lab), Dennis Saikwa (Royal), Paul Muchangi (Limuru), top junior golfer Agil Is Haq (Nyali), Zubair Khan, Mutahi Kibugu (Muthaiga).
Kenya team retained the title in 2017 edition that was played on Entebbe golf course. A team of ten golfers led by then captain Alfred Nandwa from Railways, who turned professional joined efforts with Karichu, Kisia, Samuel Njoroge (Kenya Railways) Mudanyi, Kenneth Bollo of Royal now professional, Jeff Kubwa from Muthaiga, now professional, Saikwa, Haq and Kibugu.
