Yator handed four years ban for doping

World Athletics Integrity Unit has banned former 5,000m silver medalist Vincent Yator for four years after testing positive for banned substances Prednisone, Prednisolone and metabolites of testosterone.

Yator had won the National 5,000m title in 2010 and represented the country at the Africa at the Intercontinental Cup in Croatia.

He also 4th at the 2010 at the New Delhi Commonwealth Games in india.

With his running history getting better, Yator was 4th at the 2011 All Africa Games and finished in a similar position, but in the 10,000m at the 2015 Congo Brazzaville African Games.

In 2018, Yator was involved in a road accident at Kikopey where his training mate Francis Kiplagat perished.

After the accident, he went ahead win bronze at the Honolulu Marathon in 2019 but AIU suspended Yator on October 2 2019 after having tested positive where his urine sample taken on July 7, 2019 during the Gold Coast Marathon had the presence of banned substances.

He also represented kenya at as a junior in 5,000m at the 2008 World Under-20 Championships.
