Samuel Njoroge won the Karen Challenge Trophy, the 11th leg of Kenya Armature Golf Championships (KAGC) played on par 72 Karen Golf and country Club course.

The Railways club golfer played five over par 221 in the three rounds of 54 holes to claim back to back title following his win at fortnight ago during the Nyanza Open popularly called Hippo Port played on Nyanza golf Club.
Njoroge played five 77 and two under 70 gross in the first and second rounds on Saturday before winding up with two over par 74 to emerge victorious.
With his focus to play at the Uganda Open Championships next month, Njoroge said his win in Nyanza propelled him to train more and his training has paid off.
“I was motivated by Hippo Pot win hence practicing a lot to secure another win,” said Njoroge.
In his first round, Njoroge sunk a birdie on hole 10 par 4, eleven pars and six bogeys before adding other three birdies on holes four par 4, 12 par 4 and 15 par 5, 14 pars and a bogey in the second round to spend the night with three over 147.
He woke up with zeal, sinking four birdies, nine pars, a bogey and a double bogey to emerge victorious.
He beat host member Reuben Njoroge with a shot, with six over par 222 before Coronation Trophy winner Mike Kisia from Vet Lab completed the podium with seven over par 223.
2016 champion John Karichu from Limuru was in 4th place after losing to Kisia on count back as Moses Kisia from Golf Park came in 5th position (228) as then defending champion Paul Muchangi completed the top six positions with 228.
