Bank of Africa Golf: Kamal Shah shines

Former Eldoret club captain Kamal Shah won with a slim margin during the 5th edition of Bank of Africa Golf tournament held in Eldoret on Saturday.

The home player carded solid 40 stable ford points to lift the title that attracted 60 golfers from Eldoret and neigbouring clubs.

In the tight competition on nine hole golf club, Kamal beat second placed Nilam Shah on count back following their 40 point a piece.

Handicap 12 golfer played low 19 stable ford points before returning with a whopping 21 stable ford points to emerge victorious.

Handicap 29 golfer Nilam was too successful in the opening nine and returned with 18 in the last half.

Nandi Bears lady captain Irene Brooker came third. Playing off handicap 15, Brooker played 38 stable ford points followed by Kitale Club’s Ali Babu who played 37 points who scored 18 and 21 in each nine.

Eldoret club’s professional golfer Boniface Simwa concluded the top five finishers with 37 points after losing to Babu on count back.

Eldoret’s Emmanuel Talel won the best marker’s prize with 34 points
