Upstarts Miriam Chebet and Josphat Chumo were the winners of the inaugural 10km Iten-Paris Home of Champions held in Iten, Elgeyo Marakwet County to mark the International Olympic Day.
Chebet won the women’s 10km title in 32:54.6 ahead of Cynthia Chemweno (33:15.8) and Millicent Kemboi com,pleting the podium in 34:05.1 in a race organized by French Embassy in Kenya, where France ambassador Aline Kuster-Menager was the chief guest.

The race brought together new lads in Kenyan sports to promote the fight against Gender Based Violeance ahead of 2024 Olympic Games in France.
Chumo won the men’s title in 28:55.2 beating Josphat Melly to second in 29:36.6 and Felix Kurui came third in 29:40.7.
