Kenyan Jackline Chelal and Ethiopian Gedisa Shumie were the winners of 2023 Seville marathon held yesterday in Seville, Spain.
Chelal won the race in 2:20.29 as her persoanl best edging out Ethiopian duo of Aberu Ayana Mulisa in second at 2:21.54 and Urge Diro Soboka closing the podium in 2:23.04 as they failed to break the course record of 2:18.52 set by Ethiopian Alemu Megertu.
In men’s race, Shumie led an all podium finish for Ethiopians when he clocked 2:04.59 followed by Kebede Wami (2:05.18) and Mekuant Ayenew in 2:05.23.
