Former Kenya Cup side Eldoret RFC will be seeking redemption when they face Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology (MMUST) in the Nationwide Rugby League semi final match in Kakamega.
The Eldoret based team, which was relegated from Kenya Cup in their maiden return, sunk further to the third tier and will be making their return in the Kenya Rugby Union (KRU) championships if they qualify into final play.
The Rift Valley champions beat visiting Northern Suburbs, the Nairobi regional runner up in the quarter finals to qualify to play against MMUST as they seek return in the championships.
Sharon Kalunde, the club secretary is optimistic for the return to the second tier following their intense training ahead of the meeting.
“We are ready for KRU championships return and a win against MMUST will be great for us. Each finalists will be promoted and that is our target,” said Kalunde.
MMUST managed to beat University side, The Technical University of Mombasa in quarter finals.
With two fixtures on Saturday, Rift Valley runner up Kitale rfc will travel to Nairobi to face Swara rfc, the Nairobi regional champions. Kitale ousted Kiambu while Swara beat Maseno University.
