At least 96 players are expected to face off at the Kenya Amateur Golf Championship (KAGC) series that will culminate with the highly anticipated Nyali Open, set to take place from 13th to 15th December 2024 at the par 72 Nyali Golf and Country Club in Mombasa.
The participating players have been drawn from Kenya, Rwanda, Uganda, and Zimbabwe, highlighting the growing regional appeal and competitive nature in the three days 54 holes stroke play championship, where all players will play in the first two rounds after which the top 33 and ties will make the cut to the final round on Sunday
The three day event that tees off tomorrow, Friday December 6th will culminate on Sunday December 8th with the overall winner, who has already been determined awarded the overall title as well the meeting champion.
Michael Karanga, who has already won the overall title after winning and retaining Kaimbu Open title three weeks ago, will be playing for all bragging rights with other players seeking the Nyali title.
Last year, Uganda’s Godfrey Nsubuga won the Nyali open and with his absence, a new champion will be made on Sunday.
The prize money for the Nyali Open is set at Five Hundred and Nineteen Thousand (519,000) Kenyan shillings, with the winner taking home an impressive One hundred and Twenty (120,000) Kenyan shillings.

The Nyali Open will not only crown the 2024 KAGC Champion, but also honor the Club of the Year trophy, recognizing the best-performing golf club throughout the series. Additionally, the Lowest Gross Winner trophy will be presented to the golfer who has exhibited the best performance in gross scoring throughout the year.
