Kenya Simbas, the Kenya Rugby 15s national team registered their worst performance in history as they lost their third match of the 2019 Rugby World Cup qualification at Repechage today in France.
The Ian Snook led charges lost their third match against lowly ranked Germany 43-6 to end their journey of securing Japan slot.
Germany ran in seven tries and four conversions against Sammy Oliech’s two penalties for Kenya in the first half. Kurt Haupt bagged a double for the winning side who led 12-6 at the interval with the rest of the points coming in the second half which included Sebastian Ferrera’s hattrick.
Kenya conceded 150 points -10 tries against Canada, six against Hong Kong and seven from Germany. Kenya scored 42 points in the three matches played in France.
The clash between Canada and Hong Kong at 10 pm will determine who qualifies for the Japan 2019 showpiece with Canada needing just a point to sail through.
Next for Kenya is 2019 Africa Gold Cup with the players set to return to their local sides for the 2018/19 Kenya Cup season that started last week.
Collins Injera, Andrew Amonde, Samson Onsomu, Nelson Oyoo and Willy Ambaka are expected to link up with Kenya 7s in Nairobi ahead of Hamilton 7s in 2019.
