Kenyan’s Chumba and Chesir crowned Buenos Aires marathon champions

It was an all Kenyan affair when Bethwel Kibet Chumba and Rebecca Kangogo Chesir were crowned the champions of the 2026 f Buenos Aires marathon held in the Argentina capital yesterday, Sunday September 20 2026.

Chuma won the men’s title at 2:08:28 leading Rwandan John Hakizimana to second in 2:08:39 with Kenyan Felix Kirwa completing the podium at 2:10:24.

In women, Chesir won in 2:23:36, setting the new course record and personal Best by beating Compatriots Rodah Jepkorir Tanui (2:24:49) and Emmah Cheruto Ndiwa (2:26:55) in the second the third positions respectively as Kenyans swept the podium.
