Champion Michael Karanga will be facing off with compatriot Mike Ngene at the Muthaiga Open, the third leg of Kenya Amateur Golf Championships (KAGC) series at the par 71 Muthaiga Golf club.
Karanga, who won the title last year will be up in arms to defend his title and the third title of the series after winning Windsor Classic and Sigona Bowl titles.
The 54 hole tournaments tees off on Friday morning to Sunday afternoon ahead of 2024 Magical Kenya Open.
In a congested field, 167 golfers have registered for the event in search of points.
His Kiambu counterpart Ngene will be hoping to record his maiden victory after missing to make the cut at the Windsor Open.
“I have rectified the mistakes I made during the Windsor Classic. My main aim is to play well and make a cut into the Kenya team and Kenya Open next year,” said Ngene.
“I expect the event to be very competitive and I would be happy to finish in the top ten positions after failing to make the cut at Windsor,” he added.
This year’s KAGC events will also feature professional golfers who will be seeking to improve their swing ahead of top professional golfing events.
