Kinyamal win as Moraa struggles in Silesia Continental Tour

Reigning Commonwealth Games 800m champion Wycliffe Kinyamal was on top of his heels winning the Kamila Skolimowska Memorial, the World Athletics Continental Tour in Silesia, Poland.

Kinyamal, who missed to compete for Kenya in men’s 800m at the Tokyo Olympic Games, cruised to victory in a meeting record of 1:44.63 managing to off home boy Kacper Lewalski who ran with the personal best of 1:44.84 and Great Britain’s Daniel Rowden ending the podium in 1:44.89.

Kinyamal was the only Kenyan winner on the night with national champion Michael Saruni (1:45.04) finishing in 5th position with Great Britain’s Jake Weightman in between with 1:44.97.

World under 18 400m silver medalist Mary Moraa finished in a disappointing 10th position in 800m women when she clocked 2:39.47 in a race won by Great Britain’s Jemma Reekie in 2:35.47.
