KPC, KCB and DCI set for CAVB in cairo, Egypt

Former champions Kenya Pipeline Company (KPC), KCB Women and The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) Women’s teams have named their final squad ahead of the African Women’s Clubs Championship that serves off tomorrow.

KCB named a solid star-studded squad as they prepare to fly the flag in Cairo with a delegation of 14 players, accompanied by the technical team for the showdown, where they will face off with other 24 teams from 14 countries will compete during this year’s competition, with top clubs such as defending champions Zamalek SC, Al Ahly SC, and Alexandria SC from Egypt confirmed.

The team comprises Mercy Moim, Juliana Namutira, Sharleen Maywa, Deborah Jesang, Belinda Barasa, Mildred Cherop, Pauline Chemtai, Sharon Serem, Lincy Jeruto, Josephine Kataa, Josephine Wafula, Malyne Terry, Esther Mutinda, and Fridah Boke. The technical bench supporting the squad comprises Head Coach Japheth Munala, Assistant Coach David Kinga, Technical Director Paul Bitok, Team Manager Marvin Tuikong, Team Doctor Simon Kibe, Strength and Conditioning Coach Esau Otieno, and trainer Eunice Mayo.

KCB, who lifted the African title in 2006 and again in 2022, head into the tournament determined to reclaim their place among the continent’s elite.

The bankers will be boosted by the return of Kenyan international Esther Mutinda. The arrival of libero Josphine Kataa adds depth in defence, while middle blocker Mildred Cherop rejoins the team after a one-year stint in the UAE. However, the team will miss the services of Captain Edith Wisa, who is unavailable due to personal reasons

DCI will be making their debut at the continental championships that serves off from April 11th to 24th 2026 in Cairo, Egypt, following their 2nd-place finish behind Kenya Pipeline

DCI comprises players where Opposite will be guarded by Mercy Iminza and Vivian Bor

Outside Hitters has Sarah Namisi, Sharon Cheruto, Daisy Jepkorir, and Caroline Jeruto while Middle Blockers will be held by Caroline Sirengo, Peris Kanus, Glory Make, Lydia Iswan, setters are Jane Mumbua and Vivian Vugutsa while Liberos are Joy Wanga’ya and Jemimah Siang’u

Head Coach is  Patrick Sang, assisted by Daniel Chore, Wandering Norman as physiotherapist with Team Manager as Neddy Kilimoh and Head of Delegation going to Muriuki Raaria.
