Letsrun.com honours Beatrice Chebet and Mondo Duplantis

Fresh from setting the 5km world record, double Olympic Games champion Beatrice Chebet has been recognized for outstanding year of 2024.

Today, Letsrun.com has rewarded double world cross country champion after missing out on the World Athlete of the Year Award despite enjoying the whole season on top of the world.

Letsrun crowned Chebet as their 2024 Female Athlete of the Year beating Olympics 400m hurdles champion and world record holder Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone.

Chebet won both the 5,000m and 10,000m titles at the Paris Olympic Games.

She also set two records on both the 10,000m at the Prefontaine Classic before ending the year with a 5km world record at the Cursa dels nassos 5km in Barcelona, Spain on the 2025 eve.

On the men’s side, Letsrun rewarded pole vault Mondo Duplantis of Sweden crowned Athlete of the Year, American hurdler Grant Holloway named Runner of the Year, while Norway’s Jakob Ingebrigtsen was crowned Distance Runner of the Year
