Maurine Chebor Jepkoech will be seeking back to back victories at the last leg of Athletics Kenya cross Country set for this weekend in Kericho County.
Jepkoech, who won the Mt Elgon leg last month and an additional BingwaFest opener in Nakuru with an emphatic double win, will headline the field as the Betika Cross Country 2025 lands in Kericho this Saturday October 11th at the Kericho Teachers Training College grounds where hundreds of elite and grassroots athletes battling for titles ahead of national cross country championships set for October 25th in Eldoret.
With complimentary registration already generating substantial interest, anticipation is at a heightened level as enthusiasts await to see whether Jepkoech can prolong her winning sequence and withstand formidable competition from fellow athletes eager to alter the narrative.
Athletics Kenya officials have underscored Kericho’s leg as a key build-up for both established stars and emerging talents eyeing global competitions, with selectors expected to keep a close eye on standout performers.
Betika Na Community initiative continues to underline the brand’s commitment to sports development at the grassroots, giving young athletes a national platform to showcase their prowess while energizing athletics fans in different counties.
“Cross country is in Kenya’s DNA, and we are proud to contribute to the sport from the grassroots up. Kericho is not just another stop; it’s a proving ground where future world champions will be made. We want every young runner lining up on Saturday to feel that they are part of something bigger – a community, a legacy, and a path to the world stage,” said Eric Mwiti, Betika’s Group Brand Manager.
Bib collection will be done on October 10, 2025 from 8:00 AM at Kericho Teachers Training College, with the main races flagged off on October 11, 2025 at the same venue
