East Africa volleyball champions Namwela Boys has once chance to defend their Western Region Secondary Schools Sports Association currently happening at the Bungoma High school.
The Bungoma County school will be facing off with Busia based Butula in the boys finals set for tomorrow at the same venue.
Butula, coached by Catherine Malaba defeated Katakwa also from Busia to book Namwela who beat former champions Malava 3-2 in the semifinals.
Taking the lead in pool A, Butule beat Katakwa in straight sets of 25-23, 25-14, and 25-25 while Namwela beat Malava 3-2 (24-26, 25-16, 25-20, 23-25 and 15-09).
A hattrick from Elizabeth Mideva handed Arch Bishop Njenga a final slot after beating Ibubi of Vihiga County and will now face Butere who beat Brenda Girls 2-0 in the Kakamega county derby at the finals.
The Fred Serenge’s Njenga said: “It has been a long journey and we expect good results on Saturday and win the title after a long time. We have many injuries but that will not slow our efforts after losing out in the semifinals last year,” he said.
In the boys soccer, Musingu and Kibabii match was halted in the 20th minute and will be played tomorrow at the Kamusinga Boys in closed door and the winner will face off with Munyuki who beat Bukembe 4-3 in post match penalties after a barren draw.
In netball, Bumala will be facing off with Mwitoti at the finals after winning in their respective matches in the semifinals.
