Edwin Mudanyi and Robinson Owiti will be chasing their hat trick in this weekend’s Nairobi District Foursomes Golf tournament on at Muthaiga golf club.
The pair have paired well in the last two year’s-2018 and 2017 where they won back to back titles ahead of new Kenya golf Union Calendar especially Kenya Amateur Golf Championships (KAGC).
Coming Mudanyi and Owiti are planning to hit a hat trick to increase their trophy cabinet come Saturday evening.
They will be playing for Vet lab A team and will be the first golfers on the tee on Saturday morning at 8:00am playing against Nairobi Royal club team A pair of J Ichangi and Wambugu Ikinu.
Mudanyi, who won the 2017 KAG title had a slippery 2018, missing out to defend his title but defended his Manchester Salver title in Eldoret adding on his Mount Kenya Championships title while his partner Owiti, the former Kenya captain won Limuru Championships and Railways Invitation in 2018 KAGC legs.
“We did it in 2017 and 2018, and we are hoping to redo it this year to take the trophy to the cabinet,” said Owiti.
The duo defeated Kenya Railway club’s pair of Samuel Njoroge, the 2018 KAGC champion and George Felix the winner of 2018 Coast Open championships where they won on the 22nd hole after they played hole square on hole 18 and went four hole play-off.
