Kenya Simbas, the national rugby 15-aside team has dropped into the world rugby ranking in the latest release.
Following their dismal performance at the Repechage Rugby tournament in France as they seek for a slot at the 2019 Rugby World Cup in Japan, The Simbas lost the footing to position 30 in the world, down from 22.
Kenya went down fighting losing two matches: 17-42 loss to Hong Kong in the second match and a 67-25 to Canada in the first Repechage match.
World Rugby Rankings are calculated using a ‘Points Exchange’ system, in which sides take points off each other based on the match result. Whatever one side gains, the other loses.
Kenya exchanged places with Chile who suffered a 0-73 defeat to touring Maori All Blacks.
Canada, who beat Germany in the other repechage match, remain 21st with the latter dropping two places -from 26 to 28th.
Kenya’s next match is against Germany in the last round of the repechage on Friday Nov 23 at 8pm in France.
