Sambas, the national-15-rugby-aside Coach Ian Snook will be guiding the national team to this year’s Rugby Africa Gold Cup set to take in two weeks in the fifteen extremely intense matches as Africa seeks another team to join South Africa to the 2019 Rugby World Cup in Japan.
Kenya will join other five teams in line to get the most coveted slot as Snook and his assistant Murray Roulston are counting on the match against Uganda for the traditional Elgon Cup to assess their players.
The Simbas beat Uganda 34-16 in the first leg of Elgon Cup in Kampala on May 26th and will be hosting the Ugandans in the Elgon Cup cum Gold Cup qualifier, with the winner facing off with Morocco.
The Gold Cup defending champions Namibia will open the show in Windhoek on June 16th against the Ugandans while Zimbabwe will face the Moroccans, newcomers to the Gold Cup.
