Solomon Lekuta won the sixth gold for Kenya on the closing day of world under 20 championships in Ratina stadium, Finish City of Tampere.

The pre-race favourite, Lekuta led a 1-2 finish for the East Africa nation’s podium to tally Kenyan gold to 6 to top the table.
The Narok based runner crossed the finish line in 1:46.35 ahead of Ng’eno Kipngetich who won silver timing 1:46.46 before Germany international Elliot Crestan taking home bronze clocking 1:47.27 as Algerian Oussama Cherrad won bronze timing 1:27.10.
Eerier on, reigning Africa Junior cross country champion Miriam Cherop lost the title to Ethiopian Almez Samuel in women’s 1,500m.
Chrop clocked 4:10.73 behind Samuel’s 4:09.67 and Switzerland’s Delia Sclabas won bronze in 4:11.98.
It was similar version in men’s 3,000m steeplechase where world under 18 champion Leonard Bett won silver behind Ethiopia’s Takele Nigate.
Negate clocked 8:25.35 ahead of Bett’s 8:25.39 with another Ethiopian Gatnet Wale winning bronze in 8:26.16.
