Stephen Ndangili and Sylvia Kemboi settles for silver at Africa Athletics

Kenyan Sylvia Kemboi and Stephen Ndangili Kihu won silver for Kenya at the ongoing Africa Athletics Championships in Accra, Ghana.

Kemboi, who won the title last edition, failed to defend her title during yesterday’s 20km race walk after timing 1:33:44 behind Ethiopian Wubalem Shugut (1:33:31) with Algerian Souad Azzi settling for bronze in 1:34:28.

In men, Ndangili who was competing at the continental championships for the first time managed to win silver in the men’s 20km racewalk when he clocked 1:20:01.

Ndangili finished second behind Ethiopian Misgana Wakuma (1:18:47) with another Ethiopian Abduselam Wahab Yasin winning bronze at 1:21:09.
