Pangai and Wangari triumph in the under 15 ISF Cross Country

Jane Wangari and Peter Lomuryon Pangai were the winners of the 2.2km under 15 titles for girls and boys category at the International Schools Sports Federation (ISF) at the Ngong Racecourse, Nairobi.

Wangari, a form one student from Kiambogo secondary school won the girls’ title in 7:40.8 beating Sinonin Secondary school, form one student Faith Jeptum to second at 7:42.1 with Clair Cheruto taking the podium position in 7:43.2.

It was a 1-10 positions for Kenyans in the under 15 girls category.

Wangari said: “It was something we had talked about the night before. We wanted to dominate the race and make the country proud. Personally, I had told myself that I would be satisfied with a top 10 finish so winning this race makes me so happy.”

In the boys’ Peter Lomurwon Pangai won the boys’ title in 10:18.6 beating compatriots Benson Kirongos Tipapa (10:22.5) and Dan Kibet from Kibobo completing the podium at 10:33.5
