Agitated former Olympic marathon bronze medallist Wilson Kipsang has blamed Athletics Kenya (A.K) for his woes after he was banned on Friday for four years after violating anti-doping rules of whereabouts.

The former world marathon record holder (2:03.23) claimed that some officials of Athletics Integrity Unit (AIU) colluded with officials of A.K to set him up.
Speaking to KTN TV on Saturday morning, Kipsang despite his four years ban, said he will be back soon.
“This is not the end of me. Being banned for four years is just a short time but you ban someone for four years for wherabouts, which is not normal. People have doped and found guilty and should face full ban,” said the four time London marathon champion.
He said that on that day, when he missed the doping test after he was involved in a road accident and he was in hospital.
“You go to Kipsang’s home while he was involved in an accident and hospitalised. The prove is there then you ban him for four years, that is not fair and I will be back soon,” declared the 2013 Berlin marathon winner.
He said that he submitted his case at the tribunal but the guy in-charge of AIU was with Barnaba Korir, the executive member of A.K, saying he was not in good books with both the A.K and Anti-doping Agency of Kenya (ADAK) as the president of Professional Athletes Association of Kenya (PAAK).
“So they want to make sure that Kipsang is banned for four years at all times. Any time I submit information, those guys don’t trust me because the guy at AIU studied with Barnaba Korir in the USA at Iowa State University,” he claimed.
He continued that they said if the guy stopped AK operations for three days, he cannot be trusted.
“This is a pure set up and a malicious damage to me because I have information that I was to be set up and AIU made sure that they rule against Kipsang. For all those 17 years I have been running, on whereabouts I have available and tested over 120 times with no positive test proved. If you come to my place and you miss me how can you ban me for four years? That is not fare at all,” said the agitated Kipsang.
