A new Sportpesa Super Cup champion will be made on Sunday following the exit of two time champions and defending champion Gor Mahia.
It was another defeat for Kenyan side AFC Leopards who were also knocked out of the championships today at national stadium in Tanzania.

After qualifying into group stages of CAF Confederation Cup on Sunday, Gor Mahia went down 3-4 in a post-match penalty following a one-all score against little known Mbao Stars at the National Stadium in Dar es Salaam.
Gor captain Harun Shakava and Shaffiq Batambuze penalties were saved and over bar respectively but managed to score through Francis Kahata, Jacques Tuyisenge and Boniface Omondi scored for the losers.
Mbao’s goals came through Said Hamis, Ngalema, Ibrahim Hashimu and David Mwasa whilst Gor goalie saved Harim Abdulkarim’s penalty.
Veteran Kenyan striker Dennis Oliech gave Gor Mahia the lead from the spot after Erisa Ssekisambu’s goal-bound shot was handled inside the area midway through the second half before Aboubacker Ngalema drew Mbao level.
In the second match and last quarterfinal, AFC Leopards went down 2-1 to hosts Simba SC. Clatous ‘Triple C’ Chama struck a goal and saw red at the death as Simba SC edged out AFC Leopards 2-1 at the National Stadium in Dar es Salaam to storm into the SportPesa Cup semi-finals on Wednesday.
Emmanuel Okwi opened the scoring for the Tanzanian giants before Clatous Chama added a second as Vincent Oburu halved the deficit late on for AFC Leopards.
