Vet lab’s Edwin Mudanyi has moved to the summit of Kenya Amateur Golf Championships (KAGC) table despite finishing 7th in the weekend’s Kenya Amateur Stroke Play championships at par 72 Nyali Golf Club.
Mudanyi, who recently finished 28th overall at the Africa Amateur Golf Championships at Elephant Hill’s golf club in Zimbabwe, after playing 307 Gross with a score of 74, 82, 74 and 77.
Going into Nyali Championships over the weekend, Mudanyi was second behind Limuru club’s John Karichu. With 371.5 points Mudanyi goes top ahead of Karichu with 367.5 points.
Home player Daniel Nduva won the tournament 287 Gross in four rounds (77, 72, 66 and 70) while Mudanyi had 303 (75, 72, 79, 77).
“It has always my pleasure to be on top of the table though this is not the final event but I will work hard to be kenya one,” said Mudanyi.
The event now moves to par 71 Eldoret golf club for Manchester Salver on the weekend of 4th to 5th.
