William Odek defeated the reigning Kenya Amateur Golf Championships (KAGC) champion Michael Karanga to win the Kenya Amateur Stroke Play title that came to an end today at the Nyali golf club.
Playing at his home club, Odeck beat karanga, who was the defending champion in the sudden death play off to book an automatic slot for the Magical Kenya Open next year.
The four day event that teed off on Thursday August 1st to Sunday August 4th, all played nine over par for the four rounds that forced them to face off at the play-offs.
The intense competition highlighted Odek’s skill and resilience, securing his place as the champion of this prestigious event.
This year’s event attracted 95 players from Ethiopia, South Africa, Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda, and the host Kenya.
